In anticipation of a major earthquake in Nepal, Radio Mala was founded to establish a disaster communication infrastructure to connect Kathmandu and the surrounding region through amateur radio communication. Unfortunately, their services were needed sooner than expected when the April 2015 Nepal earthquake hit, resulting in the deaths of over 8,800 people and injuring more than 23,000.
Former classmates Suresh and David joined forces to build the Amateur Radio Network in Nepal. They shared their inspiring story of working together to establish the network and helping provide critical communication during the disaster.
If you are interested in helping Radio Mala, you can connect with them through one of the links listed below. Every little bit counts in providing support and aid to those who need it most.
